Printing Industries of America has announced the 2015 Print Leadership Summit (PLS) from May 18-19 at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center in Minneapolis, MN, USA. The event is intended for marketing service providers, packaging solution firms, display graphics enterprises, supply chain management companies and printing businesses. “The attendee response to the first Print Leadership Summit was so enthusiastic that we knew we had hit the target with this program,” says Julie Shaffer, vice president, digital strategies. “Print is still a huge industry, and we built a conference devoted to addressing the issues that matter to print business leaders with a focus on successful business transformation stories and detailed ‘how-to’ discussions.” The keynotes and breakout sessions focus on transformative stories, with leaders of companies in a diverse range of sizes sharing stories of how they’ve adapted and are thriving in this post-recession business environment. The agenda highlights everything from sales growth, marketing strategy, pricing, operational issues, mergers and acquisitions, digital media integration, and much more. The conference keynote speakers are all entrepreneurs sharing business transformation success stories. The Future of Print in a Transmedia World Jeff Gomez, CEO, Starlight Runner Entertainment, is a leading transmedia producer. As a consultant to Fortune 500 companies, Gomez contributes strategic planning and production for the extension of entertainment content and brands across traditional and new media platforms. He also leverages data, digital assets and creative skills to extend the story worlds of films, television shows, toys, books, comics, animation and videogame titles across multiple media platforms, which deepen audience engagement, generate fan communities and multiple revenue streams. Why it’s Time to Reinvest in Your Business! Michael Murphy, president, Japs-Olson, has been in the graphic arts industry for his entire career. A third-generation printer, he has been with Japs-Olson since his graduation from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1993. He started his career in prepress, where he was responsible for the digital conversion of Japs-Olson’s prepress systems and entry into CTP in 1996. He has managed the plant in the roles of VP of technology, COO and president, where he is responsible for all of Japs-Olson’s production operations. How to Dominate Your Market Niche! Ron Rosenberg, President of QualityTalk, Inc., is an award-winning expert on marketing and customer service and a winner of the prestigious “Marketer of the Year” award at the International Marketing Summit. He has authored numerous books and learning systems. His newest program, the “Business Self-Defense 90-Day Implementation Fast-Track” offers tools, strategies and resources to help people effectively define their goals and objectives, overcome obstacles that might impede their efforts, and develop concrete action plans to achieve dramatic results. There Is No Work-Life Balance! Nancy Lyons, president and CEO, Clockwork, speaks extensively about work culture, entrepreneurship, social media, technology and leadership. Her guiding philosophy is that a human-centered approach to technology is the only way to get results that make a difference. Problem solving is about empowerment: motivated people create good products. Nancy supports clients and teams by fostering a collaborative, idea-driven culture that nurtures creativity and brainpower. This year, the BIA Annual Conference is co-locating with PLS and is offering a series of sessions that PLS attendees are free to attend, as well. Details, including a full conference brochure, speaker profiles, and session descriptions and registration information will be added to the PLS website as they become available.
